Hi Arturo,

Well, not sure how much data is involved too, but memory is/was a big
issue when printing pdf's: eg printing a0 on a windows machine earlier
with me was a problem, while the same print via a linux machine went fine...

And as said, if you try to print for example a huge OSM map, there is A
LOT of data involved in that too... And if you use WMS services, you
have to deal with the service limitations of those.
So use a big machine and a lot of memory (and run linux ;-) ) I think.

Another options maybe if you print at a smaller size, but a higher
resolution (composer has the ability to print at different dpi's).
