Hey Zachary - you should be able to right click that text file in your
Layers Panel  and select "Save As" - save it as a shapefile. You should
then be able to edit that file and delete the points.

I loaded vector data of points onto the map provided by QGIS (Google
Street). The points were originally created in an Excel file. I then
converted this into a text file because it said to do so. I want to
remove some of these points because they are not all
 needed but when ever i click on the layer to highlight it then pencil
goes gray and does not let me edit anything. Please help.
