[Qgis-user] getting all features within a radius or rectangle

Hello

i am working on a python scrip which analyse a vectorlayer which is
bigger.
But in every loop i just a part of geometry of it so i would like
to run a loop over the vector layer and in every step just analyse
a part of it.

My idea is to give a Coordinate in every loop and define a radius or a rectangle
around it.
So how can i do this the best?
