[Qgis-user] multiple selection

Hi,

I’m writing a script to make a report based on the selection of multiple
layers.
The outline of the selection is based on the parcels layer.
When I use the ‘select by polygon’ tool I can only select the features of
the selected layer.
I installed the multiple selection plugin it does what I want, except that I
need to draw a polygon to include features that are placed on the irregular
shape of the parcels and that cannot be included by selection by rectangle
(at least not if you don’t want to select the neigbouring parcels).
So I would like to adapt the sourcecode of the multiple selection plugin to
include ‘select by polygon’.
On the plugin page there is no working link to the code.
Does anyone know where I can find the code? 
Is there python code for the ‘select by polygon’ maptool?
Where can I find it?
