Hi,

I am not sure about v.transforme but GDA94 is handled in QGIS. I imagine that this is not the case with the local projection and that you are trying to find the transformation? Usually, my way to deal with this is to contact the local governments. They normally have software to convert local grids when these are not widely used. If you have the epgs code, you could download the grid parameters and create a custom projection using the proj4 parameters.

I have looked at using v.transform but I need a way to calculate the parameters for the transform. Any suggestions where/how I can do this?
