[Qgis-user] Live Mapping with QGIS on Toughbook

Unfortunately I don't have one to test (but someone I can call)

Two things to check:

1. Right Click in your QGIS toolbar area and activate your GPS 
information panel. See if you're connecting to the GPS. Autodetect 
should tell you something.

2. I've used the GPS Gate Splitter Software [1] on Windows 7/10 to 
connect QGIS to an External GPS. Haven't had the joy to do 
Bluetooth/internal GPS's but I'd expect Gate Splitter to at least get 
you connected on an internal....... Although I've heard Windows 10 has 
something similiar "in the guts" to make that work (no hardware to test 
that on). Once you install Gate Splitter QGIS should autodetect the GPS.

Good Luck - and I think this will work but as I type this I'm starting 
to think this might be slightly out of date thinking.
