Hi,

Expand block should « transform the existing blocks into normal elements »Is the block part of the drawing or could it be in an external reference? An external reference is a separate file. You may possibly need this file. It could help if you explained the steps you are using to import the file and your version of QGIS. The version of the dwg would also help as QGIS is picky on the dwg file version. If I recall, you can import a dwg as a file or under the project menu. I would use the project menu. If you have access to AutoCAD, change the file to a DXF. An other option is to do that with FME. If it’s for a none commercial use, they have a « free » version made for learning.
