[Qgis-user] Adding a point file to QGIS version 3.16.16-Hannover (WIN 7)

Greetings,
I am trying to add a point file (.shp) to a project.
I get this dialog:

If I choose any of the :Geometry Type" options the file is added but not 
points are not displayed.

The data source is here:
https://data.wvgis.wvu.edu/pub/Clearinghouse/location/populatedPlaces_USGS_198105_utm83_shp.zip

What must be done to add this data to the project?
