Dear Nora,

it looks like these point are located at Null Island https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_Island, which means their coordinates are 0,0. You somehow created Points withour a a real geomtry.

Maybe this might help

Regards

Benedikt

Hi Randy,

I used the “Add point” feature.

It is not stacked because the “phantom” points are all at the same location somewhere in the ocean.

Good morning Nora (or afternoon) ,

I'm wondering if you select (draw a polygon using the select tool) around one or two points you might select 2 or 4 points - you may have points stacked accidentally.

Hallo Chris,

Hope you are well??

Thanks for the reply.

Why are you using "Add polygon feature" when your goal appears to be adding points?

Sorry, I now realised that I wrote “polygon feature”. I actually use “Add point feature”

What is the geometry of your shapefile layer? If you intend to have points in it, then the geometry should be "point".

The geometry is Point.

I am counting informal structures in our project areas.

I created a shapefile layer and use the “Toggle editing – Add polygon feature” function to add a point. Every structure gets a dot.
