[Qgis-user] Easy way to use categorical classification on 'array' type fields?

Hi List,
We have vector data with one field in that data which is an "n array of (freeform) tags"...
So having 10 records, we may have 30 different tags.
Is there a way to 'explode' those records within QGIS (without manipulating the source), so we could create a 'classification' of all individual tags...
My idea would be to see a record with 3 tags then 3x in QGIS, but being able to only check ONE of the tags, my user could view the data base on individual tags...
OR is the only way to actually explode that data, base on tags, and then create categories in the 'normal' way.
Is an 'array' of numbers or strings actually a 'type' in QGIS?
Any tip or idea is really appreciated.

PS the actual situation is a little more complex: from a 'graph' of json data we create a table with 5-10 columns which have actually 'arrays'... So my idea is that by using that columns as layers, and then using the checkboxes of a categorical classified layer that the user can 'create a view on several axes/combinations'
