Hi Garry fox, That case sounds to me that you should file a ticket with VMWare, not with QGIS. Obviously the upgrade of VMWare introduced your issue. Also: do you just get an OpenGL error message or is QGIS failing to work inside the new VMWare?

I am using a VMware device with VMware Tools version 12.5, and I found that the latest QGIS is not compatible with the latest version of VMware Tools. To resolve the issue, I downgraded VMware Tools, and that fixed it.Do you have any workaround or configuration to make the latest QGIS work with the latest VMware Tools?
