[Qgis-user] How to download QGIS 4.0.1 on macOS?

Hi list,

I'm trying to download QGIS 4.0.1 on macOS. The link on the QGIS welcome
screen points to the download page, but whatever I download there turns out
to be 4.0.0 - even though 4.0.1 has already been released.

To make matters worse, the filenames of the installer packages don't
include the version number, so there's no way to tell from the filename
alone which release you're actually getting.

Two questions:
1. Where can I reliably download the 4.0.1 package for macOS?
2. Has the version discrepancy on the download page been noticed, or is
there a known workaround (e.g. a direct link or a specific mirror)?

As a side note: it might be worth reconsidering the file naming convention
for macOS packages so that the version number is reflected in the filename.
That would make it a lot easier to verify what you've downloaded without
having to open the application first.

Thomas
