[Qgis-user] Adjusting polygon points to boundary

The method depends on whether the red boundary is a line or polygon and on
the same or a different layer.
If red boundary is a polygon go to the Snapping toolbar and choose
'Avoid overlap '. In Snapping Advanced configuration set the layer to which
avoid overlaps applies to the layers the red boundary and brown polygon
exists on. Then on the brown polygon layer draw a new shape deliberately
overlapping the red boundary and existing brown polygon. The new polygon
will be trimmed to the 'avoid overlap ' boundaries. Then merge the new
brown polygon into the target brown polygon.
If red boundary is a line. Set avoid overlap to brown polygon layer. Draw
polygon deliberately overlapping again. Then in the Processing Toolbox
under "Vector Overlay" use the "Split with lines" tool.
Or you could use automatic tracing...but can be difficult to use in my
experience.
Hello,
I wanted to ask if there is a tool that allows me to adjust the points of
the brown area to match the red boundary. Unfortunately, there are a lot of
points, and doing it manually is no longer feasible. The brown area also
contains many attributes that I would
like to keep unchanged.
Does anyone have an alternative approach or a better workflow for this?
Many thanks in advance,
Jakob Rabanser
