Bugzilla and LDAP

Folks,

The Mapbender team is interested in a bugzilla maintained by OSGeo (as
is GDAL eventually). I looked into LDAP authentication a bit and this seems
quite doable for bugzilla:

   http://www.bugzilla.org/docs/tip/html/extraconfig.html#bzldap

I have added a brief note to:

   http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/SAC:Setup_LDAP_Authentication

Basically the constraint I see is that we need an email attribute for users
in LDAP if we don't already have that.

We will also need to think a bit about how to handle the bugzilla
paths/DNS entries. Do we want http://bugzilla.mapbender.osgeo.org/ or
http://mapbender.osgeo.org/bugzilla? The second option might be hard as
long as mapbender.osgeo.org points to the CN page.

I would be prepared to handle installation and setting up of Bugzilla's if
SAC so wishes. I don't really have much experience setting up the bugzilla
software, but I'm a reasonably fast learner, and I'm motivated since I would
like to migrate GDAL's bugzilla at some point.

Best regards,
