Christoph

I got pgsql running for you /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql start
I did no config ... just started it up ...
it needed a local postgres user ...
and chown home dir files
LDAP might have been interfering

[johng at xblade10-2 ~]$ ps -aef | grep postg
postgres 9184 1 0 01:18 pts/2 00:00:00 /usr/bin/postmaster -p
5432 -D /var/lib/pgsql/data
postgres 9186 9184 0 01:18 pts/2 00:00:00 postgres: logger process
postgres 9188 9184 0 01:18 pts/2 00:00:00 postgres: writer process
postgres 9189 9184 0 01:18 pts/2 00:00:00 postgres: stats buffer
process
postgres 9190 9189 0 01:18 pts/2 00:00:00 postgres: stats
collector process

Have Fun

John
