 I have recently encountered this error:

 warmerdam at webextra:/etc$ sudo ls
 [sudo] password for warmerdam:
 sudo: PERM_ROOT: setresuid(0, -1, -1): Operation not permitted
 sudo: unable to open /var/lib/sudo/warmerdam/0: Operation not permitted
 sudo: unable to set supplementary group IDs: Operation not permitted
 sudo: unable to execute /bin/ls: Operation not permitted
 }}}

 I don't recall running into this before on an OSU OSL OSGeo VMs.  I am in
 the groups file for sudoing.  I am guessing this is somehow related to the
 recent upgrade/hardening.
