[SeasonOfDocs] Getting prepped to be a newbie GeoNetwork tech writing volunteer

Hi All,

My level of experience with GRASS and GeoNetwork is low. But that is why I want to assist with the documentation. I want to learn as I go.

We are talking about adopting GeoNetwork at my work place, so motivation is high.

Johanna

Hi All,

Yes, I'd be happy to help with this. Johanna what's your level of experience with Geonetwork?

Jo

Johanna, I notice you mention GeoNetwork as one of your areas of
interest. Maybe you might want to become the "expert GeoNetwork newbie?"
Jo Cook and María Arias de Reyna have done a good job of stating
GeoNetwork writing needs and hopefully could help you get started:

If you want to tackle GRASS or GeoKettle you will likely need to go
digging for a mentor first. (GRASS has a bit of activity around it, but
GeoKettle was dropped from OSGeoLive a few releases back due to lack of
activity and unresponsiveness of the community.)

I'm hoping we can lean on this expertise to help set the direction for the focus of the Season Of Docs writing initiative.
