[SoC] OSGeo SoC web3D Project?

It looks like GeoServer is not a OSGeo project?!
And I must say that I prefer doing the client side... ;-) I will think
on this a little bit, so in the moment I'm not decided, if anyone has
any further hints in that direction I would appreciate it. :)
