Hello all,
Student application period is now open [0] !
What is to be done now?
Mentors:
- continue applying as explained here [1]:
- remember to fill up the OSGeo Mentors form [2] ;
- propose your ideas on your project's wiki page;
- spread the word about GSoC on your project's channels (mailing lists,
IRC...), and any other channel that reaches potential students;
- read proposals, and give feedback to students;
- be prepared to respond to student queries on this and your project
mailing list.
Students:
- have a look at the GSoC student guide [3], concise and clear;
- get in touch with your project(s), through mailing lists, wiki, the
IRC channels;
- browse the list of ideas, find one you'd like to implement, or write
your own;
- login or register on Melange [4] to submit your proposal(s). See [5]
for help on how to register.
- be prepared to answer to mentors comments on your proposal. The
interaction with potential mentors in this phase is crucial!
Application period closes on Friday, April 8th 19:00 UTC

We hope to see lot of good applications, and activity on the projects'
communication channels!
kind regards,
Anne
