thanks a lot for prompt reply,
You hit the bull's eye,

the tif/dted file i am trying to open has different coordinate system GEOGCS


My queries

1.  How do I open raster (tif or DTED) file with different coordinate sytem
in mapfile.

2.  Is it possible to open ogr file with extents defined and tif with above
coordinate system in same project as diffrent layers.
