[Tilecache] Problem getting started with TileCache

hi...i am new in using tile cache with openlayers to create WMS layers...
Regarding TileCache installation and configuration what i ve done so far is :

Got python 2.3
Installed WSGI server,its sample server runs ...


when i execute the command python tilecache_http_server.py, it starts listening on the port 8000...
But when i try to access http://localhost:8000/1.0.0/basic/0/0/0.png,i am unable to see any sample tile.



My /etc/tilecache.cfg looks like:

[cache]
Disk:
type=DiskCache
base=/var/local

[basic]
type=WMSLayer
url=http://localhost:8080/path to my jpg image


layers=basic
extension=jpg
size=256,256
levels=2
metaTile=true
metaSize=5,5
metaBuffer=10

I ll be very grateful if u resolve my problem.
