[Tilecache] Dropped Tiles

We are running tilecache with mapserver in a clustered environment
(centos),  two apache webservers with tilecache/mapserver and a data
server holding the tiles and src data connected via a nfs mount .  We
are having problems with missing tiles in the client (google maps).
Are there any known issues with this configuration or any config
(apache, tilecache) settings that need to be tweeked?
