[Tilecache] Some definitions

I have read both of them.
They gives foundation concepts such as Scales, Projections and explored
Desktop Applications such as Quantum GIS, uDig and some web technologies.
But they are not the manual of practical open source GIS solutions, such
as how to combine MapNik, Tilecache and Openlayers to setup map tile
rendering and something like how to calculate correct Min and Max scale
denominators for MapNik to be compatible with different OpenLayers' zoom
levels.
I admit I still don't fully understand the projections, but I get the
concept and usually use
http://spatialreference.org/ to find or translate SRS from one format to
another (example WKT to Proj.4).
Cheers,
