[TOSprint] 2019 code sprint

Not much that I can find. Largest is Geo Business 2019 in London. There are a few other smaller international events around that same time (nothing FOSS related). Last I heard FOSS4G NA was looking at some time in April 2019 in San Diego.

Sounds fabulous to me, and nice that it won’t overlap w/ our spring break period this year so I can come! Any other possible event conflicts in the May time period?

Talk to the UMN (Len Kne with U-Spatial) this morning and are looking at a 4 day sprint (could drop to 3 if that’s preferred) sometime between May 13-23, 2019 – we have 4 bocks under consideration including one that spans a weekend. That’s after finals and the campus is kinda dead so it should be possible to get access to space at no cost. Len has identified a couple of spots that have been recently remodeled or are in new buildings. Not a New York penthouse but it should be nice. The U represents a convenient location – light rail runs through the middle of the Minneapolis campus and connects directly to the MSP Airport. Low cost dorm accommodations are available in the $50-60 range for the budget conscious crowd.

What do folks think?

Nothing firm. We have a call scheduled with folks at the UMN tomorrow morning concerning their participation and access to facilities.

Still a "go" for Minneapolis?

We are working on it - trying to see if there is way the UMN could serve as a host - probably in the second half of May. Nothing definitive yet though...

Tom,

I think Minneapolis is going to be the location. Howard Butler and Steve Lime have taken some preliminary steps for 2019 I believe.

Hi all: are there any developments or options on 2019 sprint? It is still early days however given the success of the 2018 sprint I am wondering if any plans are in the works.
