Thanks to all,
I was unfamiliar with OTB. I have now installed, and it appears that I
will be able to do most of what I require with this package, using the
Monteverdi interface. I would like to use Opticks, but my system is
(mistakenly) 32-bit and Opticks only supports 64-bit. Saga will not do
enough, especially converting file formats (eg bil to georeferenced jpeg
for export and sharing). Grass, accessed through Q-GIS and gdal are
powerful, but not good for PCA which I often need. I will experiment
with OTB in coming weeks as I have time.
Many thanks again,
Chris
