[Ubuntu] GDAL problems on 12.04

FYI I am using this ppa:
frank at pc-frank:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntugis-ppa-precise.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntugis/ppa/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntugis/ppa/ubuntu precise main

Should I switch to unstable? Guess, stable should work though ...
