[Ubuntu] How to install the correct proj version?

Hello Luis,

I had the same error message using GRASS today, and solved it by installing proj
using the latest repository for GRASS:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable
sudo apt-get update

then went to Synaptic and installed proj directly, and it installed 4.8, and the
problem was solved.
