[Ubuntu] [Qgis-user] MrSID for QGIS 1.8 in Ubuntu Precise

That tutorial is woefully outdated... I tried to compile Mr.Sid support using the 8.0 version of the lizardtech dsdk sometime ago but never could get it working, original post is below:

I ended up just reverting to using the older mrsid 7.0 dsdk, it was not easy to find but I kept a copy of it around if you need it.
