GISRUK in April

Antony attending AGI Environment Special interest group on Mar 23 in London

Open Source Geospatial Health Informatics (UK) Conference in Nottingham on April 5th. This is free event but you need to register to Mark Elkins via  mark_elkins at bcs.org<mailto:mark_elkins at bcs.org>

Action (All): To promote all open source GIS events widely as possible


# Marketing update

Suchith said that there is need to more promotional materials for all of us to take to events. Will need to discuss in our next meeting

# Research and academic  update

Suchith updated about the ELOGeo project which has just started at CGS . This is important for the building the educational agenda of Open Source GIS. Details at http://cgs.nottingham.ac.uk/~elogeo/

All inputs and suggestions welcome. Saab to contact Suchith to contribute adding tutorials for the ELOGeo project.

Internship students at the Open Source Geospatial Lab at CGS have their papers accepted for many conferences ( ICC 2011, GISRUK 2011 etc ) highlighting the excellent research outputs produced. Suchith also working actively in promoting OSGeo at all levels.


# OSGIS 2011 update

Suchith updated on excellent response for the OSGeo-OGC Interoperability day at OSGIS. All workshop slots now taken. Tyler leading this workshop and updates at http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OGC_OSGeo_Interoperability_Day_2011


# Next OSGeo:UK IRC meeting time
