This may be of interest to members - it is likely that FOSS4G 2026 will 
be in Hiroshima, Japan.

There will probably be an announcement after the vote closes on 31st Jan.

If you are interested in keeping up with plans for the international 
conference (or OSGeo more generally) anyone can sign up to the 
osgeo-board and conference_dev lists - you don't have to be a member.

Dear OSGeo Board members,

Following our face2face meeting in Belem and the conversation on the 
Conference Committee mailing list [1], we kindly ask the board to award 
the organization of the FOSS4G 2026 conference to Hiroshima LOC. All the 
CC members that participated in the discussion are in favor of such a 
decision. Please help us with a formal motion on Loomio.
