[OSGeo Vietnam] About OSGeo-Vietnam and GIS-IDEAS 2010

Dear all member of OS-Geo Vietnam,

In lately our group seems to be quite. I think from the started
date we are not really active. Thank to Prof. Venkatesh and Dr. Bui Hong Son tried
to rouse the activation. I understand that we are so busy with a thousand works
but as Dr. BHS said “this group is like a relax place”. We should have a meeting
for all the members and all of us can propose some for developing of OS-Geo
 Vietnam. 

With the suggestion of Prof. Venkatesh about adding OS-Geo
 Vietnam to the
co-organizer that is favorable step to Os-Geo Vietnam
chapter can be spreader. In my opinion we should start from now with the attending
to the GIS-Ideas, encourage friends and colleagues to join this conference. (June
6th is received abstract, from now is the best time for preparing).

Thank to Prof. Venkatesh gave us a good suggestion  (+1). How about Dr. Duan and Dr. Luan? And the
others ?

Trước hết xin gửi tới mọi người sức khỏe và gặp nhiều thành công trong công việc cũng như cuộc sống.
Cám ơn mọi người bầu cho tôi chức "Đại diện OSgeo VN", với tiêu chí và mục tiêu của OSGeo thì cái chức này mang một ý nghĩa rất lớn theo kiểu "Ăn cơm nhà vác tù và hàng tổng". Thôi thì các đại ca đã bầu thì cũng cố nhưng rất cần sự ửng hộ của anh chị em. 
Tham gia vào OSGeo VN Chapter tức tham gia vào hội hè nên chúng ta cố gắng tạo một môi trường vui vẻ, giúp đỡ lẫn nhau trong công việc và cuộc sống là trên hết. Ở nhà: con khóc vợ kêu, lên cơ quan công ty thì sếp la, lính hỏi : mệt mỏi rùi nên vào đây cũng nên coi là một cách xả tress  ;-). Ặc, dù sao mình cũng mang cái danh OSGeo nên mục tiêu đã đặt ra cũng cần phải cùng nhau phấn đấu để đạt được. Chúng ta còn có nhiều việc để làm và rất mong mọi người tham gia sôi nổi, cũng như kêu gọi các chiến hữu tham gia vào OSGeo VN Chapter.

Rất mong lắng nghe ý kiến của các bạn. 
P/S: Tốt nhất là viết tiếng Việt. Tiếng Anh của tui lởm khởm lắm.

The board meeting scheduled for 1st April has been postponed to

In the meanwhile, I open my first idea as below.

GIS-IDEAS 2010 will be held in Hanoi from 11-13 Nov
2010. The draft page (not yet public) for GIS-IDEAS 2010
is available at http://wgrass.media.osaka-cu.ac.jp/gisideas10/

While there has been participation by OSGeo-Vietnam fans
in the past GIS-IDEAS conference, there has not yet
been any official tie-up with OSGeo-Vietnam Kical Chapter
at more official level in organizing the GIS-IDEAS event.

As you may see from the past and 2010 events, the topics
covered in GIS-IDEAS conferences are closely related and
relevant to OSGeo.

We (the organzers of GIS-IDEAS) would like to seek more
official involvement from OSGeo-Vietnam in the 2010 and future
GIS-IDEAS events. In this connection we would like to
specifically seek OSGeo-Vietnam to be co-organizers
of the 2010 event. There is not financial commitment involved
for OSGeo-Vietnam to become co-organizer, but any kind of support from
VAST would be most welcome. Maybe we could have a special OSGeo
Session as in the case of previous GIS-IDEAS conferences.
The tentative first circular of GIS-IDEAS 2010 is available at

and I have taken the liberty of adding Mr. Bui Hong SON as one of
the members of the steering committee. I think it is appropriate
that Mr. Son represents OSGeo-Vietnam.

Hope OSGeo-Vietnam will consider the above request favorably.
You can get additional details about GIS-IDEAS from Dr. Duan.
If you need any other information from our side or official
letter from the organizers to get things going, please let me
know.

Mr. Son, we would also like to add someone from CIREN-Hanoi to
be represented in the steering committee and also invite
CIREN-Hanoi's involvement as co-organizers for GIS-IDEAS 2010.
Please let us know about this possibility too.
