#130: inconsistent wiki login behaviour
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
Reporter: dpatton | Owner: webcom at lists.osgeo.org
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: minor | Component: WebSite
Keywords: wiki login |
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
Start at any wiki page, but not logged it, such as:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Website_Committee
If you use the "edit" tab, you get:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php?title=Website_Committee&action=edit
If you click on the "login" link in the text
"You have to login to edit pages." you get this page:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Special:Userlogin
If you login, you get a "Login successful" page,
with the text "Return to Main Page.".
That is inconsistent with the notion of logging in
in order to edit the page you were trying to edit.
From this page:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Website_Committee
or this page:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php?title=Website_Committee&action=edit
if you login via the "Log in / create account" link
in the upper right corner of the page, you get the
option once logged in to "Return to Website Committee.".
That difference in behaviour is because the "Log in / create account"
uses the query string parameter "returnto", as in
"returnto=Website_Committee", but that parameter is missing
from the "login" link on the "Login required to edit" page.
