Yep, that works. 

Renaming the BinaryReader class to SdfBinaryReader in the SDF provider (and renaming the BinaryWriter class to SdfBinaryWriter for good measure) resolves this problem and produces a cmake build that can be linked with MapGuide. 

I think this solution beats trying to figure out the magical combination of compiler/linker flags that has been wonderfully obscured by the combination of automake and libtool.
