[mapguide-users] Tiled map using GETMAPIMAGE

I stumbled across your mapguide-users enquiry regarding point labeling with
GETMAPIMAGE. I have made a custom cache for use with my own interface, with
the exact same problem.

I wondered if you had a solution to this, or if you live with the problem
like I do. Here are some thoughts of mine on a solution.


   - Use the GETTILEIMAGE command, the drawbacks are, you are limited to
   mapguides positioning, and a hardcoded tile size of 300x300 (which is my
   tile size anyway). This is only available as a PNG as far as I know, which I
   don't like.
   - The new 1.2 mapguide is supposed to have several improvements in
   this area, so that could be worth waiting for.
   - I have tried playing with base layers to force nice labeling..
   unsuccessfully.
   - I have made my image request to GETMAPIMAGE about 2000x2000 pixels
   to limit the occurance of this problem..

If you have any thoughts on this, please get back to me.
