Apache+Win2k

Hello.
I am having problems accessing shape files form my network.
In win Nt 4, mapserver can read the shape files:
----
DATA "\\SERVERS\somedir\shapefile"
----
Using Win2k and the same DATA , I get:

----
msOpenSHPFile(): Unable to access file. (shapefile)
----

I use Apache 1.3, Win2k OS, Mapserver 3.4.
