[Mapserver-users] More than 100 layers - Do I really need to recompile mapserver?

If I have more than 100 layers, do I really need to recompile Mapserver,
setting the MS_MAXLAYERS variable of the map.h header file?

Does anyone know if 400-500 layers is an issue for Mapserver?

Is there some site out there that has different versions of Mapserver
binaries for Windows with different options and libraries?  I really do
not want to have to get into compiling mapserver from the source.
