The OLPP control. This is a working implementation of a Python version 
of the tile-stitching technique, with a nice OL Control wrapper.
     http://www.mapsportal.org/olprint/

All of the tile-stitching techniques yield a final image. You would then 
add program code to place this image into a PDF.

The down side here, is that it yields a map identical to that on the 
browser: same tile quality, the same extent and size, no DPI scaling.
