[postgis] idea for postgis application

Sounds as if an interactive viewer would definitely need to be heavily 
multithreaded.

FWIW if I did write something for Cocoa, it would in theory be not too 
hard to port it to GNUStep thus opening it up to any unix platform. 
Maybe even Win32, although I understand one has to be pretty brave to 
run GNUStep on Windows.
