[postgis-users] Postgis to ESRI shape file encoding problem

I tried this way :

ALTER DATABASE DBIPRS SET PGCLIENTENCODING to 'Latin2'

but i got the error:

ERROR: unrecognized configuration parameter "pgclientencoding"
SQL state: 42704
