[work] [Qgis-community-team] website - ideas/questions

Hi Folks

My 2c on the web site is that it should be pruned back to just the
very essentials:

 - what is qgis
 - where can I download it
 - let me know when new releases are made
 - where can I go to get more info (mailing lists, forums etc)

My feeling is that everything else (tutorials, demos etc etc) should
be moved into the blog or else where.

Regarding Joomla 1.5 I think its still immature and would prefer to
wait for a couple of security updates before moving QGIS.org to it.

Regarding hosting, currently the site is hosted on my server, but the
plan is to move it to osgeo hosting. If one of you would like to
pursue that further I would be most grateful for the help. The bigger
problem is moving the community map stuff over to a new server since
the code for it is old and rickety. Getting the community map code
revamped and quality control checked would be another great
contribution.

Regards

Tim
