[QGIS-Developer] FeatureRequest: make Page properties (portrait/landscape) easy(ier) accessible

Hi Devs,

I'm not so much of a report/layout maker, so last week I had to create a simple (map only) pdf, but really could not find how to change my page from Landscape to Portrait...

Today somebody contacted me with exact the same question: "I used it earlier, and now I cannot find 'the button' anymore"...

What would be the intuitive place to access the page props (most notably off course orientation/size)?

The *Layout* properties-tab/menu (to me most intuitive) is probably not showing it because you can have several pages to one layout and they can have different page properties (I found out).

So some (theoretical) options:
- does a 'page' have 'Item Properties'? Because that one is empty now? Would it be easy to add it there?
- would it be possible to add it to the 'Guides' tab? Because that one already has a 'Page' dropdown, so.. maybe add Page properties there?
- maybe add another tab (like Guides) named 'Pages', and a page dropdown there and then the props per page?

Ah wait... if you have a layout with several (different oriented) pages, and you select the context menu 'Page properties', the Page properties ARE SHOWN in the 'Item Properties'???

Does the (empty) layout page has some signal when you click on it? So a click on the empty sheet would reveal the same 'Item Properties' as the 'Page Properties'-context menu shows?

Or is there some (technical) reason this is not possible?

If not possible, anybody has a (easy implementable) for this? As my gutfeeling is there are more people searching for this :-)

Regards,

Richard Duivenvoorde
