yes yes I'm a grass user and into grass all is ok... (I suppose you
suggest to verify with v.db.connect)

Vector map <geologica_or_frane at geo_spoleto> is connected by:
layer <1> table <public.geologica_or_frane> in database <geo_spoleto>
through driver <pg> with key <cat>

the layers were already in grass... I created the map using grass... not
qgis, now I would like to use Qgis only to plot...

yes, I simply say -> toggle editing and then split features

I have just seen that with polygon it seems to work.... it snaps in two
vertex and the poligon is divided...
but what about breacking a single line?
