[Qgis-user] Set relative path [QGIS 1.8.0 on Win XP]

Thank you all, I solved my problem.
I didn't know it was possible to open .qgs file in a text editor, great idea!
So I opened it, I change all datasources to C:, and I found that the path was set as absolute, despite I set "relative" path from project properties.
Bye,
Raffaella

Hi Raffaella,
I leave others to deal with absolute versus relative paths, however you
can open the .qgis file itself in notepad and use search and replace to
replace the paths that way. So search for E:\gis_folder\ and replace
with "C:\newfolder\" for instance.Jonathan

Rather strange. It should be exactly opposite. Are these projects created with an older Qgis version? If I remember correctly, absolute paths were default until Qgis 1.7.3.

What happens if you change the properties entry to "absolute"?
You can look into the project file with a text editor and look for <datasource> tags.

greetings,
André Joost
