[Qgis-user] Atlas: Is there a way to synchronize canvas to atlas preview?

Hello,

Indeed a very nice and handy idea. I have already experienced the trouble
of moving a label in map canvas without knowing exactly how it will look in
the composer. Bernd's methodology helps.

Tho a fit map canvas to atlas preview extents is quite nice, IMHO, a "scale
and pan" map canvas to atlas item would be even nicer.

A part from the atlas, another more advanced (as probably more difficult to
achieve) would be the ability to temporarily lock map canvas representation
to a scale (normally the printing scale). This would mean, that if you zoom
in or out, the width of the symbols and the labels would increase and
decrease accordingly. This would be quite helpful when you want to give
some final touches in a map, And you want to make sure some element\labels
don't touch each other.

Thanks for your great work,

Alexandre Neto
