Daniel,
as someone who knows you for quite some time I vouch for your
integrity and painstaking impartiality. So from my side there is
nothing to be said against you participating in the decision (as
always, this is said without a say on the board). I believe that your
evaluation will help to come to a good decision. Further reducing the
number of people who will have to take the decision does not really help.

Having said this I also believe that no matter which decision is taken
we have two very sound proposals and it will hurt to reject one of
them no matter what. At the same time I am also convinced that the
"winner" will put on a great FOSS4G. So whichever decision you take it
will be the right one. Which is a pretty comfortable starting point.
