Just to say, thanks to sponsorship, that Paris CS didn't have to use any profit from a prior event, 
nor need either to use any authorized OSGeo funds.

And to enlarge a bit the debate, i could seen that asking on OSGeo board list for funding, 
was also a good indirect way to promote the event itself.
