Hi Tim,

I would like to thank your clarification on that issue. You really
summarize it pretty well.

As I said in some previous emails, our intention is to cover the hackfest
expenses as well as offering a set of free passes to the QGIS conference
(for those developers willing also to participate in the QGIS hackfest).
The expenses should be covered by potential gains from the conference but
the current lack of sponsorship makes this more difficult. Not impossible
but more difficult.

That is the reason why we sent an application for funding the hackfest. We
will continue looking for sponsorship for covering the expenses of the
event, but the help of OSGeo is important for decrease your stress.

Needless to say that the sponsorship for the hackfest will be only used
for the hackfest and the OSGeo logo will clearly appear on the hackfest
page.
