Hi Cameron,
sorry for the delay in my response.
It is great to hear about how active and effective you appear to have been

Yes, of course
What do you need funding for which would be difficult to obtain elsewhere?
> (Being specific and creating a budget would help).
We have a budget, we need the money to pay for the legal and accounting
fees, that will later allow us to charge a social fee and collect money to
sustain us. As of now we don't have any way to receive money, until we have
all legal and accounting formalities sorted out,
The amounts are in Argentine pesos and US dollars at today's lowest rate
Description Amount (pesos) Amount (USD)
Legal Services $12.353,90 $332,99
Accounting Services $42.350,00 $1.141,51
Banking $6.656,45 $179,42
Total $61.360,35 $1.653,92
> What value would you gain which is enabled by this funding?
Up until now, we depended on other organizations to lend us their ability
to charge for activities in order to raise the money necessary to fund all
our activities, that also costs us money, so we did most events for free,
asking favors and doing everything ourselves.
We want some liberties to manage our own money, but also be able to raise
more funds and make better and larger events and activities. One example of
the thing we want to be able to do by raising more money is to set up a
travel Grant for our regional FOSS4G, be able to give student discounts and
pay for the keynotes to come.
This is a steping stone for us to grow.
How much money are you asking for?
See the budget above, we only need USD 1654.
Will it be a once off cost, or ongoing? Could you see yourselves as
> becoming self sustaining?
It's a one time cost, from here on out we will be seeking active members
and sponsors.
Of note, I am not on the board, and am not speaking on the board's behalf.
> I am just passing on a suggestion.
Thank you for your questions! It allowed me to start providing the
information necessary.
Hope I answer everything.
Cheers
Malena
