Thanks Jachym.

I did my first additions to the 2025 page propositions section. Will
process it a bit more in my head in the following days, hopefully by the
end of the week.

As Berit suggested in a previous mail I think timeline-wise it would be
good if we managed to have a "call-for-location" out by the end of July
and then maybe have a location fixed somewhere Septemberish. Booking
venues and preparations for CfPs (workshops, general program, academic)
will also require time. Does this sound reasonable?

I would like to see the location selection process itself a little more
informal than it is for the global FOSS4Gs - in the sense that instead
of LOC teams competing with each other we could be discussing the next
destination where we all want to go. Of course there needs to be solid
local presence for running the day-to-day preparations and errands and
preparations that need to be done on the spot, there are still plenty of
options to help out remotely too (sponsorship, TGP if any, program
committee work, homepage, ticketing setup, etc.)

So essentially I guess the thing I'm suggesting is to have a kind of
core conf-org from OSGeo European (chapter :) ) side to help out with
the mundane "we've-been-there-done-that" tasks to the level that is
needed so the on-site people can concentrate on the more interesting and
demanding tasks of venue and catering and streaming (if any) and social
program.

This turned into a bit of a stream of conciousness, but this is the best
I can manage to push from my brain to the keyboard right now :D

All the best from Tartu,
t;
