[OSGeo-Conf] Conference policy

Folks,

This is a fascinating idea because of the potential to allow business models
to be built around hosting events under the OSGeo brand.

I'm for anything that increases someone's ability to generate revenue
through open source software. However I suspect the concerns would be
centered on 1) quality assurance - does "OSGeo" become diluted or
meaningless if any guy with a computer and a projector can set up show as an
"OSGeo training provider"? and 2) liability - doing anything "in the name
of" OSGeo but with out direct OSGeo supervision may have some liability
issues for OSGeo. Maybe I run an OSGeo training and end up burning down the
meeting venue. Someone is going to try to sue OSGeo...

So there's some input from a conference committee lurker. If those issues
can be worked out, then consider this a +1 lurker vote.
